Online MBA Concentrations

The Master of Business Administration online program offers optional concentrations tailored to the demands of today’s top careers. Choose a concentration to advance in your current role or move into a new field that requires a different set of skills. A concentration will add three courses (nine credits) to your online MBA program, allowing you to obtain specialized skills for leadership in the career path you’re most interested in.

If you don’t choose a concentration, you can complete a general MBA that offers essential business knowledge plus industry-connected competencies applicable to leadership roles across multiple industries.

The online Master of Business Administration is composed of foundation courses, core courses and concentration courses, if applicable. Foundation courses cover general topics in accounting, economics, finance, information systems, marketing and quantitative methods.

Core courses emphasize advanced knowledge plus the complexities of business dynamics, scenarios, settings and cultures. The core culminates with a capstone experience in strategic management to help you apply theoretical concepts to a variety of organizational situations from a management perspective.

VisaOnly F-1 visas are accepted for international admission to degree programs. If you’re an F-1 transfer student, we require a copy of your I-20 form upon admission
Financial DocumentationInternational applicants must submit proof of funds to cover at least their first year of study. If living with a friend or relative in the U.S., students must submit additional documentation such as an affidavit of free room and board with supporting documents. For financial documentation, international students must forward the required financial evidence to the Office of International Affairs
Transcript EvaluationTranscripts must be evaluated by a recognized credential evaluation agency (such as WES or ECE) and sent to DSU

Dr. Janice E. Wardle, MBA Program Director

Faculty Spotlight: Dr. Janice E. Wardle

Dr. Janice E. Wardle earned a BS in Business Administration from the University of Delaware, an MBA from Wilmington University and a PhD in Business Leadership with a specialization in Sports Leadership from Northcentral University. She served as chair of sports management at Wilmington University for more than two decades, and in April 2024, assumed the role of Director of the MBA program at Delaware State University (HBCU).

Dr. Wardle’s scholarly interests center on experiential learning and youth sports coaching. She has delivered numerous presentations on Generation Z, project-based learning, flipping classroom methodologies and strategies for preparing high school athletes for collegiate sports. These presentations have been featured at secondary schools, higher education institutions and national professional conferences. She has also advanced graduate research initiatives through partnerships with the Colorado Springs Olympic Training Center.

Prior to her academic career, Dr. Wardle held positions in human resources, serving as a corporate and nurse recruiter for major hospitals for 12 years.
