We’ve streamlined the application process to save you time and arrive at an admission decision sooner. Submit your online application along with official copies of your transcripts for transfer credit evaluation. You can transfer up to 60 credits from a two-year community or junior college and up to 15 credits from a four-year college or university. All transcripts must show an official GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale.

DSU offers an empowering community to students from around the world. In addition to the basic admission requirements, you’ll submit the following items with your application. Be sure to apply at least 90 days before classes start so that you have ample time to fulfill these requirements.

Dr. Amy Gootee-Ash, Public Health Program Coordinator
Faculty Spotlight: Amy Gootee-Ash, PhD
Dr. Amy Gootee-Ash is a public health scholar and practitioner with expertise in food insecurity, student health behaviors and applied community-based research. She serves as a faculty member in the Department of Public and Allied Health at Delaware State University, where she teaches. Her work focuses on linking social determinants of health with measurable biological indicators to improve health outcomes among college populations.
Dr. Gootee-Ash earned her PhD in Health Sciences from Northern Illinois University, where her dissertation examined food insecurity among college students — a line of research she continues to expand through biomarker-driven studies in diet quality, stress and inflammation. She is also a master trainer for the State of Delaware in chronic disease. She has extensive experience in curriculum development, student mentoring, program evaluation and grant-supported research.
In addition to her academic work, she collaborates with community partners on initiatives addressing mental health, nutrition access and preventive health education. Dr. Gootee-Ash is committed to preparing the next generation of public health professionals through experiential learning and evidence-based practice.
